Korean car tax for a private passenger car = engine cc × ₩80 (≤1,000cc), ₩140 (≤1,600cc) or ₩200 (over 1,600cc). Electric and hydrogen cars pay ₩100,000.
A local education tax of 30% is added.
From the 3rd year the tax drops 5% a year, up to 50%. Car age = this year − first registration year + 1.
Paying the rest of the year up front in January, March, June or September gives a discount (about 4.58% in January) — apply on Wetax.
